DIY/Gardening Day – Saturday 20th April

It was a great omen to awake to brilliant blue skies and the day saw us bathed in sunshine! Although we always achieve a lot at these days they are also great fun. Lots of families came to ‘do their bit’ in the great playgrounds & gardens tidy up: the wall in the back playground was painted. The areas around the school buildings were weeded. Nettles hacked out. New flowers were planted. New fruit trees which had been donated to us were potted up. The front garden was weeded and chopped back. A ‘bug hotel’ was inaugurated! A paved path was laid in the Secret Garden .Children came and contributed a mixture of helping and playing. These are really good community building days combined with a sense of satisfaction in seeing the difference that is made to the school environment.

‘Phil the Bag’ – week of 15th – 19th April
Many used the half term as an opportunity to have a clear out and make their home clutter-free! Lots of bags were filled and dragged into school. Items are reused or recycled and we get paid per kilo of bags filled, so we make money for the school while also doing our bit to save the planet. We made £93. Plus we had a uniform sale which made £71

Table Top Sale –Saturday 11th May
This event was widely advertised thanks to sponsorship from a local estate agents. Sadly on the day of the Sale we were greeted by thunder clouds and threats of a downpour. There were almost 20 stalls selling all kinds of bric-a-brac but the rain deterred the all but the most adventurous shoppers. FAB charged for stalls to rent a space and had a café on site. We made £285.

Children’s Entertainment Evening – Wednesday 22rd May  3.30pm
FAB paid for an afternoon of fun for the kids: we had a visit from both a magician and a street entertainer clown. The children really enjoyed this event and joined in with gusto. The emphasis was on enjoyment rather than profit, however we’re glad to say We made £60!

Cake sale – Thursday 23rd May  3.30pm
A bumper cake sale at the Spring half term break. We made £110.

International Night – Friday 14th June 5.30 – 7.30
A wonderful celebration of our diversity. As always a very popular evening, with everybody bringing a dish of food relating to their background giving us a wonderful buffet of amazing cuisine. Entertainment provided by each of the classes.

Summer Fair – Saturday 22nd June
A wonderful day! Tombola, raffle, bouncy castle, goal shoot out, bushtucker trial, stalls, food, cakes. While not our usual sunshine at least the rain held off until we were packing up at the end!

Cake Sale – Tuesday 23rd July 3.30 p.m.
Another popular fundraiser.
